What a year it’s been! 🚀 2024 marked a pivotal chapter for Geoship—one defined by groundbreaking milestones, transformative growth, and an ever-expanding community committed to building a regenerative future.
From launching our Wefunder community round to expanding our reservation pipeline and submitting our first land use permit, every step forward was powered by the incredible energy of our investors, ambassadors, customers, and community. Together, we’re not just building homes—we’re co-creating a decentralized living movement, reconnecting communities with nature and each other. 🌿
Here are some of the highlights we celebrated in 2024:
🏢 Company and Team Success: Hired a world-class team with leadership from Tesla, Apple, SpaceX, and the Boring Company. We also moved into and set up our 10,000+ square-foot pilot production facility in Grass Valley, CA.
⭐ Product Engineering Milestones: Completed development and engineering of the Amma Dome—a factory-certified housing solution. This 36ft fully integrated home offers 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and 1,620 square feet of total floor space. We finalized the loft design, adding 630 square feet of living space with features like a skylight, curved glass shower doors, and a helical staircase. Structural engineering was completed to meet California's stringent building codes for seismic, snow, and wind loads. We also progressed material science for GeoRok, enabling scalable, high-quality production.
🔧 Manufacturing Achievements: Released purchase orders for key equipment for the pilot factory, including a proprietary mixing system and raw mineral handling system. We finalized the pilot factory layout, surpassing capacity expectations and enabling scalable, efficient production. We also defined a production timeline for Amma #1, targeting a Certificate of Occupancy by Summer 2025.
📜 Permitting and Production Readiness: Amma Dome #1 was approved by the Nevada City Planning Commission, marking a first for round structures in a jurisdiction with strict architectural guidelines. We developed a scalable, repeatable permitting process through California’s Factory-Built Housing Program and local jurisdiction engagement. This laid the groundwork for expansion into neighboring jurisdictions, where we received initial support and enthusiasm from building departments.
💰 Crowdfunding Success: Successfully closed Seed 1 and Seed 2 crowdfunding rounds, raising over $8M and welcoming 1,000+ new investors into the Geoship community. We achieved $200M+ in dome reservations—over 1,350 domes—signaling strong demand and market interest.
